Modified starch, also called starch derivatives, is prepared by physically or chemically treating and is used as food additives to change food properties. Modified starches are practically used in products as a thickening agent, gelatinizing agent, stabilizer or emulsifier, which could be treated as a replacement of expensive raw materials to reduce cost, enhance quality and improve economic returns in food field. As a broad-spectrum and important industrial raw material, modified starch is able to become paste only mixing with water, saving the process of heating. It is widely applied in building, medicine, food, cosmetics, fodder, oil drilling, metal casting, textile, paper making, etc.

Technological Process

Raw Materials Configuration→ Mixing→ Conveyance→ Extrusion→ Conveyance→ Drying→ Conveyance→ Pulverizing

 

Equipment Configurations

1.    Flour Mixer: Evenly stir starch alone or starch mixture (e.g. corn starch, cassava starch, potato starch, etc) with a certain amount of water. Choose different GY flour mixer model according to different output requirements.

2.    Spiral Conveyor: Convey stirred raw materials into feeding hopper of extruder.

3.    Extruder: Select different GY extruder model based on clients’ raw materials and output capacity requirement. With the help of special control cabinet, extruder is able to extrude the raw material under different temperature & pressure, and produce puffed products. The shapes of products can be changed by changing the modules in extruder.

4.    Air Conveyor: Convey material into drying oven.

5.    Multi-layer Drying Oven: Dry semi-finished products. It is the most common dehydration plant for puffed food. It includes a belt dryer and some in-built heating devices to carry out drying by means of electricity, vapor, diesel or gas. The drying temperature and drying time can be controlled.

6.    Pulverizer: Select an appropriate pulverizer according to the requirements of modified starch.
